- 2021 -Litigation and ultimate a settlement of $1.4 million in a member oppression case involving majority owners who acted together and attempted a cram-down of client’s interest in a high-dollar multi-use, new construction real estate construction project. Matter also involved significant interaction with banking documents and attorney malpractice relating to prior company counsel
- 2021 – Litigation and mediated settlement of family business dispute, defending client from allegations of wrongdoing and negotiating buyout of stock interest for approximately $300,000. The case involved issues of other family members influencing aged and mentally incapacitated parents who were shareholders and also nominal officers and directors.
- 2020 -Negotiated a nearly $1 million write-down of a client’s loan obligations to a lender in a distressed borrower scenario.
- 2020 – Mediation and later negotiations on behalf of shareholder / family member of a closely held business alleging breaches of fiduciary duties, ultimately resulting in the sale of the business and pro-rata distribution to client of Multi-generational sum.
- 2017 -Litigation and $2.4 million settlement on behalf of beneficiaries of a family trust based on practices of family member/successor trustee relating to discretionary use of trust assets depleting the value of the trust to the detriment of the residual beneficiaries. Matter also involved allegations of abusive practices by counsel to the successor trustee family member and multiple appeals.
- 2014 – Litigation and mediated settlement of dispute involving misappropriation of $4.1 million of lottery proceeds between two co-purchasers, representing betrayed ticket owner against co-owner who attempted to convert our client’s share. Resulting settlement allocated client their 50% share of the lump sum payout of the lottery proceeds and required the bad-actor to pay all of the income taxes relating to such proceeds so that the client’s share was net of any taxes.
